3D Anatomy Atlas: an anatomy atlas as a web component from svitylo

I built an open-source 3D atlas of human anatomy that ships as a web component () on top of three.js (WebGL2).

Some things that may interest this forum:
- The body is 4,454 structures and about 3 million triangles, so nothing is loaded until the user acts. Geometry is split into region chunks (one node and one primitive per GLB) with EXT_meshopt_compression and KHR_mesh_quantization, in two quality levels made with meshoptimizer (about 55 MB and 21 MB for the whole body).
- Selecting a structure loads only its files. A “surroundings level” stepper shows the selection in the context of its parent groups, and a slider makes everything that is not selected translucent.
- Transparency: up to 300 translucent structures are drawn layer by layer (a depth pre-pass per structure, sorted by bounding sphere); above that a single-layer mode is used.
- Picking runs on the CPU over triangles with bounding-volume culling. Rendering is on demand, and remounting the element does not pile up WebGL contexts or listeners.
- The core (/core) is headless and does not depend on Lit.

Known limits: the data is a preview (licence audit pending, no anatomical review yet), and the automated tests run in Chromium with software rendering, so other GPUs and browsers are unverified.
