Thought I’d share with you a small game I’ve been working on. It’s a horror-themed FPS with PSone style visuals. The controls are quite simple:
With mouse and keyboard, press the WASD or the arrow keys to start moving in a given direction. Press the same key again to stop. Press Q or E to switch between a flashlight and a gun. Move the mouse to look around, and press the left mouse button to shoot.
With touch input, swipe up/down/left/right to start moving in that direction. Swipe that way again to stop. Move your finger on the screen to look around. Tap with one finger to shoot, and tap with two fingers to switch between a flashlight and a gun.
As for gameplay, you are being pursued by strange creatures. You score points by disposing of them and die when they get close to you for too long. You use a pistol to fight and a flashlight to see them at a distance. Your score is displayed upon death. Your movement speed is pretty low, so being aware of your surroundings is key!
All in all, there’s really not much to it, but making it was (mostly) lots of fun. Hope that some of you might like it! I’m currently working on a similar project but third-person and with much more going on–hopefully I get to showcase it next year.
