Hi,
I’m SonicXBoy, an independent WebGL developer from Saint Petersburg, working remotely. I build interactive 3D for the web — and I treat animation as choreography: rhythm, weight, pause and precision, with smooth eased motion and no janky spring physics. Design and engineering are one system for me; performance is part of the visual quality.
Stack: Three.js, React Three Fiber, GLSL, WebGPU (learning), Mapbox GL, React, TypeScript, Next.js, Astro, Node.js, Zustand, GSAP, Rapier, postprocessing (Bloom/DOF/SSAO/God Rays), Chrome extensions (Manifest V3).
What I do:
- Interactive 3D scenes, animations and immersive landing pages (Three.js / R3F)
- Product configurators (real-time materials/colors/parts, price updates)
- 3D data visualization and dashboards
- Custom GLSL shaders, procedural effects, particles, volumetric light
- PBR materials, reflections, post-processing
- Browser engines and games — including a full Minecraft web client
- Embedding 3D into React / Next.js / WordPress; WebGL optimization (I ship two performance builds: desktop + lightweight mobile)
Selected work:
- My portfolio — a single continuous WebGL choreography (cube assembly → physical spin top → orbital disassembly → plasma reactor), open source: https://sonicxboy.dev
- Minecraft browser replay engine — a web client that replays recorded sessions by parsing network packets in the browser (mineflayer + a refactored prismarine-viewer renderer): https://mcraft.fun/playground.html
- Interactive sphere/bubble demo: https://bubble-gum.vercel.app
- Replay Engine - Minecraft Replay Engine Based on OpenSource project.

I handle the full cycle — concept, prototype, architecture, production, optimization — and I especially enjoy unusual tasks where the system and its visual language have to be invented together.
Looking for freelance/contract work: configurators, interactive marketing sites, data viz, WebGL anything unusual. Happy to jump into an existing project or start from scratch.
