Hi everyone!
I’d like to share CHROMA VIVA 004, an interactive artwork built with Three.js, WebGL, and custom shaders.
This piece is an “ink sea” — a glossy, liquid surface where orange, yellow, and cyan flow together in layered waves. Touch or drag with your finger or mouse, and vivid waves and splashes form and dissolve. Leave it alone and the surface continues to gently move on its own.
There’s also an original soundtrack. Tap “Sound on” to listen.
The fluid motion is an artistic approximation rather than a physically accurate simulation. The focus is on the relationship between color, light, and touch — how the surface responds when disturbed, and how the colors blend and separate.
Try it here:
I’d love to hear how it feels on your device, especially on mobile. Feedback on the movement, materials, performance, and overall atmosphere is very welcome.
