Best settings exporting FBX from 3DSMAx to Three.js

I am working with a 3D artist, who uses 3DSMAX. When I download an FBX from a site like SketchFab it opens perfectly in my canvas. However, all of the FBX models the 3D artist has sent me do not work well.

For example they are so big that the camera is in the middle of the object. They barely work because they are so large. They also look poor.

I was wondering if someone had a link to guidelines or a suggestion of the best setting to use when exporting an fbx from 3dxmax.
