WebVR and CubeCamera anyone?

Has anyone had success mating CubeCamera and WebVR? I have tried some small examples and the results are weird. Here is a codepen to illustrate…

If you run this in Chrome you will see a typical reflective cube with OrbitControls.
However, if you run this in (VR Compatible)FireFox, and have a VR headset, once entering VR, you will see the cube remain stationary, with the reflected stars synchronized with headset movement, as if they were attached to your head.
Any insights greatly appreciated.
