Javascript library monetization

I am curious. Some who use a 3d library, or any library for that matter are directly employed and get paid that way. The question is, if you write a significant javascript library, for instance, a wrapper library for webAudio API to rapidly create biquad filters correctly, and compression dynamics, etc. Even wrappers for three.js to create geometries with video textures, vector displacement, animations, and 3d spatial sound. What are some ways to monetize?

This is generally very difficult, and various aspects of the open source ecosystem work against sustainable funding for free software. That said, I think Indie Open Source gives a good roundup of options to consider: Indie Open Source / Resources for Indies
