Anyone knows how to make particle trail effect?


I am trying to recreate the animation in the first slide(nshape) for educational purposes so it doesnโ€™t really have to be this site. The important thing is the idea of how they went through this.

it seems the basic idea is to store the position of the bottommost layer of the model and as the bottommost layer goes up those layers leave a mark like jet clouds, shooting stars.

My difficulty is creating the particle trail effect. is there anyone who knows what is the idea?
I am not asking for a code
