Hello,
Can you help me with creating animated sphere covered with words?
I am seeking someone to create an animated sphere for my website. The sphere should rotate when the cursor hovers above the sphere, it should be covered with various words written in different fonts and different sizes, and each word should be a link to a section of a website. I would also love to have the ability to edit/change/format the words covering the sphere. I will be grateful for any advice even if it is just a contact name or a good example of something similar.
Thank you
Hi!
Any reference picture/video of the desired result?
I think that you are talking about something like this:
https://codesandbox.io/p/sandbox/yup2o?file=%2Fsrc%2FApp.js
or like this:
I found this in another discussion thread https://regaceproject.com/spin/text.html
or this
https://shange-fagan.neocities.org/globe_news2/globe-news2
that motion is perfect the background and the surfaces are too much for my idea though. I wish to see nothing but the ball (representing globe) but the oceans or continents are not important. Important are the ideas represented by the words that should be covering the surface of the sphere (which might - but not necessarily depict contours of the continents - but very lightly in order not to “allocate” certain idea to certain geographical location)
It’s somehow tragic how you unknowingly feed back what you found on “another discussion thread” to the very author who actually created this:
Should I feel embarassed or should I appologize?
I have just joined yesterday. Did not know how to address the author (s) and did not know whether it is appropriate to change topic. My questions are the user stuff - like: “can it be done, how much would it cost me”…
I have no clue about coding and if the participants in the discussion were interested in technical issues, I might be disrupting their flow. So I thought at least.
Not at all.
When you’re new, you can’t know everything. And if the author and the source were indicated in the code (some people simply remove the authorship to pass it off as their own work) it would be easier to communicate.
As a newbie, take a look at my collection. I wish you a lot of fun.
Basically, this sentence explains everything.
I suspect you will need someone to do the design/functionality for you. But I don’t think anyone would do it comprehensively for free… My post seems to give you what you’re writing about, but you probably won’t be able to implement it. If someone tells you how to implement it, you will ask where to start, what to install, etc. It will be an endless series of questions.
The problem is that the OP has no idea about anything (in the case of this thread), not that he doesn’t know everything…
Moreover, as @vielzutun.ch aptly pointed out, perhaps a little too harshly, the very structure of the question and discussion indicates that the OP has no idea about implementation…
If I may ask, what is the purpose of your post? And what platform do you work on (drag&drop?)? Because from what you wrote, the question about whether you write raw code seems pointless.
Dear Lukasz,
you guessed it right - I do not code and could hardly learn enough to tweak a code that has already been written. I am a “client” I see/imagine a webpage that is dominated by a sphere covered by words of different sizes and fonts and I am trying to find out “feasibility” and “cost” if the answer is yes. (I have already mentioned these questions previously). If that would require coding whole website, be it. I have ideas and I am looking for someone to put it in place. I hope these questions are not offensive in any manner.
There’s nothing wrong with that… as already mentioned, people ask, people answer, that’s how it works…
I think you have to decide whether you want to create and implement something yourself, or outsource it.
- In the first case (in the state of things where you start learning - don’t worry, we’re all still learning, it’s a never-ending process…) there’s a lot of (fun) work waiting for you, and then the subject we’re talking about here will become clearer.
- In the second case, we have a Jobs tab here, and you can outsource all or part of a given project…
If I had to give you some advice, I would choose the first option, because you’ll be an active helmsman of this journey, not just a passive observer
…
Thank you.
The timeframe at this moment will probably make me choose the second option.
and thank you for the challenge about learning.
ZIM TextureActive could do it.
