Very hacky implementation of octahedral impostors in three based on the great blog post by Ryan Brucks on impostors in Fortnite/Unreal Engine, building on the octahedron unwrapping code by SketchpunkLabs. The code is very much incomplete, the runtime shader barely useful I’d say, but it’s a start. If anyone is interested in pushing this along further, here’s the code.
