We are seeking an experienced freelance Three.js Sr Developer to enhance an existing 3D satellite tracking application, Space ACME. This project involves adding new features like a 2D map view, advanced data visualizations, and UI enhancements to ingest AI-powered predictive data.
Data Visualization: Implementing satellite ground traces, visualizing sensor look angles, and creating geographic boundary identification.
2D Map View: Developing a toggle between 3D globe and 2D flat map projection.
AI Integration: Refining the user interface to support the display of AI-generated data from backend sources.
Standalone Web Component: Refactoring core visualization logic into a reusable web component.
Required Skills and Experience
3D Graphics: Deep proficiency with Three.js.
Web Development: Expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
UI/UX: Experience with UI/UX design systems like Astro UXDS.
APIs & Databases: Advanced experience building authenticated RESTful APIs and database development (PostgreSQL, SQLite, and MongoDB).
Web Components: Experience building standalone Web Components (LitElement, Stencil) and using module bundlers (Vite).
AI/Machine Learning: Experience with or knowledge of AI/Machine Learning concepts.
Geospatial Concepts: Knowledge of map projections and geofencing.
This is a remote contract role, with project completion upon successful delivery of all features and deployment to a staging environment. Due to our company’s work with local and federal government agencies we can only consider US Citizens based in the United States.

This is a very interesting project. I have been building real time 3D platforms with Three.js for several years, especially systems that involve large spatial environments, data visualization layers, and performance sensitive rendering.
Work like satellite tracking, ground traces, and map projections fits well with the type of visualization problems I enjoy working on. I have also spent a lot of time structuring Three.js applications so the rendering and visualization logic can be modular and reused across platforms.
Most of my work involves scene optimization, asset streaming, and building scalable 3D systems that handle complex datasets and interactive visual layers.
Outside visualization I have also been developing an electronic cash architecture designed for offline transactions where connectivity cannot be assumed. It is integrated with many of my virtual world platforms to support virtual commerce and digital ownership inside 3D environments.
The system is designed as a fully private store of digital value where peer to peer transactions can occur without external observation, which can be useful in isolated environments or infrastructure limited scenarios.
