Disposing points on mesh surface

I have a mesh loaded from an obj file and I wish to dispose some points on all the surface of the mesh.

Actually I’m disposing them in random vertices positions, but my mesh is low poly so I wish put them also between vertices and upon every face.

Any advice?

Have you looked at if Subdivision Modifier or the Simplifier Modifer can work for you?
