I have been checking panolens recently, it looks really good. It is currently free, with option to give support to the project which is well deserved actually.
I want to check the implication of doing a project with it… so if in a years time the way it is distributed changes and requires payment, will my project be affected.
I’m not a lawyer but as far as I know it is not possible to change the license of a software in a retrospective fashion. The owners of
Panolens.js could re-release their project under a new license as let’s say
Panolens.js 2.0. But if you download the software today, you can use this specific version forever with the current license.
Great. That answers my question and gives me peace of mind for now
