Slingshotter is a spaceflight simulation game inspired by Kerbal Space Program. You design rockets and fly them to complete contracts. Unlike KSP, you don’t fly rockets in real time: Instead, you design a flight plan on a timeline, and instantly see the results as a complete trajectory.
This gameplay enables a number of cool things:
-
Visualize the effect of every parameter on the trajectory.
-
Change your rocket design *after* launching it.
-
Tweak your launch to minimize propellant consumption.
-
Do things in parallel, like reach orbit and land a booster (that you can then refly).
The game lets players develop a physical intuition of what it means to reach orbit, land a booster, rendezvous with a spacecraft, plan a transfer to Mars or Venus, or perform gravity assists.
