Elon Musk has talked about adding rocket thrusters to the next-generation Tesla Roadster. I wanted to explore what that could look like as an interactive driving experience, so I built Roadster: Thrust Lab.
It’s a browser-based stunt playground built with Three.js and WebGPU. The focus is on driving physics, rocket-assisted flight, and the challenge of controlling the car once it leaves the ground.
The world is a neon-lit test facility with ramps, wall rides, a circular tunnel, and different stunt zones. You can launch off ramps, control pitch and roll mid-air, use thrusters to adjust your trajectory, and attempt to land cleanly. There’s also a custom wall-adhesion system and brake-to-drift handling.
