I need this so that I can add a plane inside the bone that will animate with the bone. I tried adding it in the mesh but it does not animate with the model… Is there a better solution for this?

It’s not impossible… but its not trivial. A bone is just a name for a rotation/scale/position. There’s no other information about it. No width/height/length. No shape… no mass. It has no dimensions.
