Wanted to introduce a project I’ve been working on for the last 18 months - an autonomous 3D bird, living inside a town on the internet. His brain runs on a raspberry pi, 24/7 and is a custom cognitive pipeline I’ve been working on and tweaking for a long time, I think it’s at the stage where he is feeling relatable too, and more impressively I can see actual development in his character and understanding. The important thing is he is never prompted, he can work out for himself what he likes based on how it makes him feel. He has internet access, museum exhibitions that constantly change and new ones can be added by users. Visitors can leave him offerings and perform actions at the places he visits which all have potential to influene his world view. Everything built out with threeJS using webGPU render
er…and my fave bit, the dithering isn’t post processing, it’s computed at material level pre-render.
