Hey everyone! My name is Anil Mistry and I am the VP & Head of Platform at The Sandbox.
The Sandbox has launched its Beta Game Jam with it’s new software - The Sandbox Studio.
The Sandbox Studio is Three.js with an AI-native game engine on top. Same 3D skills, plus editor, physics, multiplayer, and one-click browser publishing.
-
It’s built on Three.js, not instead of it. If you already know Three.js, you’re not learning a new 3D language. It uses the same scene, meshes, models, and materials.
-
You keep your 3D work, and stop rebuilding the game around it. Character movement, physics, input device support (including phones), UI, animation, and multiplayer all come with the tool.
-
There’s a real editor, not just a blank code project. You can place objects, tweak the scene visually, then drop into code when you need custom behaviour.
-
You can publish to a browser link. Players don’t install anything. The same project can go from prototype to a live multiplayer game.
-
Bringing an existing Three.js project over is wrap-and-keep, not start-over. Keep the models, look, and shaders; swap the homemade game loop and camera controls for Studio’s.
Joining the Beta will give you:
-
Access to the Beta Game Jam with a prize pool of $7,500
-
Try brand new features including multiplayer and monetisation before anyone else.
-
An advantage for future Game Jams and early visibility on the platform.
-
A head-start on the forthcoming platform to create, distribute and monetise your games
If you have any questions or are happy to proceed please reply to me here or sign-up at https://sandbox.game. It would be great to get the Three.js community involved early!
