I work by myself most days from a small music studio in Seoul, and I wanted the feeling of other people being around without a meeting or a call. So I built a place for it.
Four spaces with different atmospheres: an office, a bar, a pantry, and a nature area that leads out to a balloon field. You walk around, and voice chat only reaches the people near you, so conversations happen in corners the way they do in a real room. No download, and you can walk in as a guest without signing up.
The part that is hard to explain until you see it: I am a musician, and the piano in the bar is connected to my real one. When I am online and someone asks, I play live. Not a playlist.
Built with TypeScript and three.js. Happy to answer anything about how the spaces are put together.
It is still rough, and the honest problem I am working on is that the rooms are empty at most hours. If you drop in and nobody is there, that is the thing I am trying to solve.
