We’ve been working on NixieFX, a browser-based particle and VFX editor aimed at HTML5 games.

Effects are authored visually and exported into the game project. The open-source runtime uses one deterministic particle simulation, with Three.js and PixiJS renderer adapters.

For Three.js, the basic lifecycle is deliberately small: load the exported bundle, create a ThreeVfxRenderer, instantiate an effect, update it once per frame, and destroy it with the owning scene.

The editor can be tried here:

> **[NixieFX — Particle & VFX Editor](https://nixiefx.com/editor/)**
>
> Create, preview, and export particle effects for Three.js and PixiJS web games directly in your browser.

Three.js integration details:

> **[NixieFX Three.js runtime — guide and API reference](https://nixiefx.com/threejs-runtime/)**
>
> Everything the nixie-fx Three.js adapter exposes: loadVfxExportBundle, ThreeVfxRenderer, effect instances, providers, runtime controls, stats, and performance guidance.

Runtime source:

I’d be particularly interested in feedback about the runtime API and export format from people who have already integrated particle systems into Three.js games.
