In may map, there is a cuboid building with sides that are not perfectly vertical (at a 90-degree angle). When the character leans against the side, they descend slowly, as if standing on an 85-degree slope and sliding down at a sluggish pace. Despite setting the friction of the building to zero, the character still slides down slowly. I want them to slide down rapidly, similar to free-falling through the air. Is it possible to achieve this?
Yes, it’s possible. The slow slide happens because the physics engine treats the surface as slightly tilted, and even with zero friction, the character controller can limit how fast you move along it. To make them slide fast, like free-falling, you can apply a downward force or velocity along the slope, or override the grounded movement so the character accelerates down without being slowed by the surface. Basically, you can force the character to slide as fast as you want.
