# Have new codepen embeds been disallowed in the forums?

Yes I had the same issue few days ago as well.  
Old codepens work, it’s the new ones

I think “embedding” in this case is showing the codepen’s canvas right here, in the forum, like this:

Yes that’s what we could display with the old ones (they still work)  
But when we do it now using recents codepens, discourse doesn’t add the embeding feature anymore.

@Mugen87 Still not working. This is a default feature of Discourse. It seems maybe something in the Three.js forum config has changed.

Discourse has had CodePen embeds since 2014:

> CodePen now defaults to https if no referrer is present or the referrer used HTTPS. We think it’s good to go. Testing below.

Maybe the forum’s oEmbed functionality has been disabled?

Maybe someone from Discourse can point to a config option for someone here to look at:
