Should we be worried about Earth’s moving magnetic field? Last 25 years our magnetic field has been cutting across northern Canada to northern Russia. Previously, it had spent 400 years generally in the same area.
Don’t know if we should be worried - just wanted to make a Earth magnetic field visual and used data from www.ncei.noaa.gov.
I think this visual does an okay job showing how fast it’s moved in the last 25 years if you scroll slowly.
Field lines are created by spawning random arrows that follow paths that are always tangent to the field. In other words, as an arrow moves along a field line, it always points in the direction of the field.
